Online member meeting to discuss 2 items:
1. We will elect 2 non board members to make up the Audit Committee. One will be elected for a 2-year term and one for a 4-year term. I will send out the names that have been submitted as we get closer to the meeting date; as I am still accepting names to be presented to the Board prior to the election. If you are interested, the description is attached and you can contact exec-secretary@vppa.info.
2. We would like your input as we select several charities that will comprise an amendment to our Constitution. As I said in my last email, our documents do not give any direction, so if ever a need to stop operating as an association should arise, our assets would become property of the State. The IRS gives us the opportunity to specify any charity, if you so choose. Your Board of Directors feels like we should clarify this item that is currently silent in our Constitution.
There are two important things I add. First of all, our Associations is solid and sustainable. We do not anticipate this ever occurring, but it is a precaution. Second, whatever we decide can be changed by a board that will follow the current one. We believe, if the language is in the documents and if we review them annually, this important item will never be overlooked.
