Friday March 31st - Southern Herd Roundup

4:30pm - Sunset: The southern herd is expected in the corral around 4:30pm.  Suggested arrival time to view their entrance AND secure a good spot is 2pm.  There are also a couple areas west of the corral that are potential good spots for the herd heading to the corral. There are opportunities to take pictures of the ponies in the corral until sunset.  Bring a step ladder for better viewing.

7:30pm - 10pm - We have been graciously offered the pavilion at the Chincoteague Museum to hang out and meet local photographers.  Feel free to grab something to eat before heading over.  Famous (pizzas and sandwiches) will deliver if anyone is interested.  There is a program at the museum that evening so if you need to park on the side streets, please do so but be aware of driveways, etc....

Saturday April 1st

7am - noon:  The Northern herd requires about a 2 mile walk to the corral.  You can bike part of the way but must leave your bike at about the halfway point.  It's a gravel road so plan your shoe game accordingly.

Noon - 5pm - Explore the island on your own.  Visit the open shops on Main Street.  At the south end of Main Street there is a Waterman's Memorial.  On Maddox, stop in and grab some of the best ice cream ever at the Island Creamery or if you love soft serve, Mr. Whippy's may be the afternoon dessert you'd prefer.  You can also visit Assateague and the Chincoteague Museum which is open until 4pm.

5pm - Dinner at the Village.  Please let me know if you plan to attend by Monday March 27th so I can call ahead for reservations.

7pm - Join us for an amazing walking tour with Cindy Faith of Chincoteague Step Through Time Tours.  The evening tour will be Pirate, Legend and Lore.  Learn about shipwrecks and pirates, scandals, local legends and a couple ghost stories or two thrown in for good measure.  The cost of the tour is $20 person and kids under 10 are free. Please bring cash when we meet for the tour.

As a reminder, the hotel is the Waterside Inn, 3761 Main St, Chincoteague, VA 23336(757) 336-3434. Be sure to mention VPPA for your discount.  Also, if you are donating a matted print to Cindy, please be sure to bring it with you.  All sales from the donations will go towards saving the Bebe Ranch.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  I'm so excited to see you all there and look forward to an amazing weekend!

All the best,

Jamie

P.S.  The first foal of the season was born this week! He's one of Beach Boy's foals (in case you follow the ponies) and we hope to see him or her next weekend!
